Tickets for Marble Arch Mound available now
Tickets for London’s most talked about and newest tourist attraction, the Marble Arch Mound, are now available to buy, with the viewpoint opening to members of the public on Monday July 26.
The eye-catching temporary installation, created by Westminster City Council, creates a spectacular 25-meter-tall viewpoint which gives visitors sweeping views of Oxford Street, Hyde Park, Mayfair and Marylebone.
Designed by world renowned architect MVRDV, the striking attraction introduces a park-like landscape of grass and trees and ‘lifts’ the corner of Hyde Park.
The green mound will give visitors an experience of the great outdoors right at the centre of the city and a 360 degree view they have never seen before.
Members of the public will be able to experience the spectacular views of the city by climbing via a single continuous route, which is around 130 stairs. For those who may find stair walking a challenge, a lift will be able to take visitors to the top and back down to ensure it is fully accessible and can be enjoyed by all.
The council is also delighted to announce that it has partnered with M&S. M&S Food will provide food and drinks from inside and outside the mound, served from their bespoke food trucks. Visitors will be able to enjoy all their favourite M&S sandwiches and drinks as they admire the wonderful views of Westminster.
Marble Arch Mound has been designed with strong sustainability standards, with materials used to be recycled or reused where possible to provide a lasting legacy.
The Marble Arch Mound will be open to visitors on Monday July 26 until January 2022. Tickets can be purchased via the Marble Arch Mound website.
Cllr Rachael Robathan, Leader of Westminster City Council, had a sneak peek of the mound ahead of its opening in July.
Cllr Robathan said:
This is an incredibly exciting step into safely welcoming visitors back to Westminster. The views on top of the mound are just spectacular, and it’s a joy to see a completely new element of the Oxford Street District.
We have been extremely ambitious with our plans to revive the city and we are confident this creative approach will secure the District’s long-term success. The Marble Arch Mound will draw in crowds to this central London destination by supporting retail, hospitality, and leisure sectors in the West End as businesses continue to re-cover from the pandemic.
