A market featuring some of the city’s best local and independent businesses is coming to Victoria to kick off the Jubilee celebrations on Tuesday 31st May,

There will be seating areas decorated with bunting on the piazza directly in front of Westminster Cathedral, surrounded by market stalls selling unique crafts, drinks and food. The atmosphere will be reminiscent of a street party.

Some of the businesses featuring include mamalollys who will be tempting visitors with vegan hot sauces, Souter Bros serving coffee and artisanal baked pastries and the atlas works selling their range of recycled glassware products.

The market, which will be open from 10am to 5pm, will  bring people together, support local businesses and foster a sense of community in the lead up to the long weekend’s Jubilee celebrations.

Councillor Geoff Barraclough, Cabinet Member for City Shaping, Planning and Economic Development Westminster City Council said:

Westminster’s Street Markets are an integral and historic element of our City which have supported local businesses and served local communities for generations.

If you live or work locally, come and enjoy everything on offer and help to kick-off a fantastic week of Jubilee celebrations across the City.

Westminster City Council has a dedicated Market Development Team which works with traders and local communities to help our markets thrive.

Key achievements have included holding special events (like this one) to reach new audiences and attract new traders; installing free, reliable and secure Wi-Fi at six of our key markets; and offering training and support to local residents interested in becoming the next generation of market traders.
