Westminster City Council wants to hear the views of residents of council housing who live in the city, and has launched a new listening programme.
Tenants and leaseholders can feedback their views at one of 14 face to face events or by going online and filling in a survey.
On 15 October 2018, the Council’s Cabinet made the decision to bring the management of social housing back into the council. The transfer from current provider CityWest Homes will take place at the end of March with the new service going live on 1 April 2019.
The decision was made after concerns were raised by residents about the service CityWest Homes was providing.
Staff from the council will be at locations across the borough in January and February and will be meeting resident representatives to hear their experiences of the current service and get their views on what they want from the new service.
The council has already talked to residents at two Open Door events held by CityWest Homes over the last couple of weeks and will also be at the three Open Door events in the New Year.
Cllr Andrew Smith, Cabinet Member for Housing, said: “We’re keen to hear from as many residents as possible over the next few months. Their views will help shape the new service which will have residents at its heart.
“We know that the current service has let some people down and that we have work to do to regain residents’ trust, and provide a service that they are happy with. I’m absolutely committed to this happening and we are already working closely with CityWest Homes to ensure the service is improving now.”
