The council’s list of validation requirements sets out information we require to allow the validation and assessment of planning applications, in addition to those national information requirements set out in primary legislation. National planning practice guidance and the Town and Country Planning (Development Management Procedure) Order 2015 require local planning authorities to review their list every 2 years.
Our list is due for review. This draft list of validation requirements (PDF, 482KB), for consultation, sets out our proposed revisions to the list with the changes shown in red italics. The majority of changes reflect the council’s increased emphasis on digital working, changes to policies within the City Plan and new types of application for ‘prior approval’ introduced by primary legislation.

Following the consultation exercise, the results will be reported back to the Cabinet Member for Planning and the Public Realm with suggested revisions in response to any comments received. The revised list of validation requirements will then be published once any revisions are agreed by the Cabinet Member.
