Archives Centre and library rooms for hire

Hire one of the meeting rooms or function spaces in our Archives Centre, Charing Cross Library, Church Street Library and Westminster Reference Library. These are perfect for business functions, conferences and meetings. Westminster Music Library has a rehearsal room for music practice.

1. Archives Centre

The Archives Centre has a well-equipped meeting room for hire in a pleasant, modern environment and offers impressive facilities for your conference, business and meeting needs.

Facilities

  • seats up to 60 people (theatre-style) or 24 people (boardroom-style)
  • slide and overhead projector, flip charts, screens, multi-media LCD projector, camcorder
  • internet access and free wifi using your own device
  • induction loop
  • disabled access and toilets
  • refreshments and full air-conditioning

2. Charing Cross Library

Charing Cross Library has 2 community rooms for hire.

Small room

  • accommodates 12 people seated, 20 standing
  • tables and chairs available for 12 people
  • projector and screen available on request

This room is on the second floor and the library is not wheelchair accessible.

Cost: £50 per day; £20 non-refundable deposit. £10 per hour; £10 non-refundable deposit.

Large room

  • accommodates 50 people seated, 70 people standing
  •  tables, chairs and other working surfaces are available (table space for 30 people)
  • projector and screen
  • kitchen equipment (fridge, sink and small kettle)
  • no refreshments supplied but you are welcome to bring your own tea, coffee, sugar and milk

This room is in the basement and the library is not wheelchair accessible.

Cost: £200 per day; £20 non-refundable deposit. £25 per hour; £10 non-refundable deposit.

3. Church Street Library

Church Street Library has one large community space and 2 private meeting rooms for hire.

Meeting rooms

There are 2 private meeting rooms, each with 1 table and 3 chairs.
The rooms are available for hire to residents’ associations, voluntary and community, statutory and commercial organisations.

Cost: £10 to £25 per hour depending on organisation type.

Community space

There is a large open plan space with kitchenette. Tables, chairs, flip chart stand, and a digital projector and screen available for use. The room has 40 chairs and 8 tables and can accommodate 20 people (boardroom-style) or 40 people (theatre-style).

Cost: £10 to £30 per hour depending on the type of organisation hiring.

4. Westminster Music Library

Rehearsal room

Westminster Music Library has one large rehearsal room for hire. The room is available for hire to anyone including commercial organisations.

The room can accommodate up to 20 people plus musical instruments, and is equipped with a Yamaha Clavinova keyboard.

Cost: £10 per hour including tea and coffee

5. Westminster Reference Library

Westminster Reference Library offers a friendly and positive environment for meetings and includes bathroom and kitchen facilities.

Facilities

  • meeting room with seating for up to 10 people
  • flip-chart, white board, markers and screen
  • kitchen equipment (microwave, coffee-maker, kettle, crockery, basic cutlery)
  • no refreshments supplied but you are welcome to bring your own tea, coffee, sugar and milk
  • wifi available

*Reduced rates are available to schools, adult education institutions, Westminster Local History Societies and Westminster City Council departments.

Bookings of 5 or more, when made at the same time, will be charged at reduced rates.

Once received, an email confirmation will be sent. Please remember to cancel bookings if you no longer require them.

Cancellations must be received in writing at least 7 days prior to the date of hire, or you will need to pay the full cost.
