Improving air quality

It is crucial that national government and the Mayor of London play their part in tackling air pollution. 

Where possible, we want to act as a ‘critical friend’ to others: to help support policies and interventions that align with our ambitions, but also to encourage and push for more action to be taken where we think it is needed.

In June 2022 we responded to Defra’s national consultation on environmental targets falling under the new Environment Act 2021. You can find our response, and our call for more engagement from Government with us on these important issues, below. Topics covered include those related to air quality, biodiversity, flood risk and waste.
