  • MyTimeActive run regular sessions for children, young people and mums in and out of school and sessions cover healthy eating, nutrition, play and oral health - find MyTimeActive sessions near you
  • the Central London Community Healthcare’s oral health promotion team runs activities to help improve your child's oral health
  • the NHS Choices website which offers information on how to keep your teeth and gums as healthy as possible
  • at your baby’s 8-month and 2-year Health Visitor check, you will be provided with oral health advice, a cup and a Brushing for Life pack.
  • NHS dental care for children is free - find your nearest dentist
Top tips from the NHS
Start brushing your teeth with fluoride toothpaste as soon as their first milk tooth breaks through
This is also when you should take them for their first dentist appointment
Brush your child’s teeth for two minutes just before bedtime and at least one other time during the day
Encourage your children to spit out excess toothpaste
Supervise tooth brushing until your child is seven.
