Tooth decay is the leading cause of hospital admission for children aged 1 to 9 years old in Westminster, and the council is combating this through a range of services and activities to promote good oral health such as:
Top tips from the NHS
Start brushing your teeth with fluoride toothpaste as soon as their first milk tooth breaks through
This is also when you should take them for their first dentist appointment
Brush your child’s teeth for two minutes just before bedtime and at least one other time during the day
Encourage your children to spit out excess toothpaste
Supervise tooth brushing until your child is seven.
