City-wide engagement groups

The main forum for strategic engagement between residents and the housing service is the Resident Panel. The Resident Panel is made up of a diverse range of residents, reflecting the diversity of the community served by the housing service. The Resident Panel meets monthly to discuss issues affecting residents, review performance measures and to suggest improvements to the housing service. This group also helps prioritise topics for working groups to address.

Working groups will run for a fixed period and will address a specific topic or issue in detail. This approach builds on what has worked well in the past. It recognises that involvement has most impact when individual residents can work collaboratively with council officers, in a focused way, on the issues that matter most to them.

The main steering group for the support provided to local resident groups is the Chairs Group. The Chairs Group forum is open to the elected chairs of each local resident group. The Chairs Group meet quarterly as a valuable networking and peer support forum for local leaders. It also provides an opportunity for resident group leaders to give feedback and suggest improvements to the housing service.

All residents living in homes owned and managed by the housing service also have the option of getting involved by joining Westminster Housing Online.
