There are 2 schemes to help young athletes in Westminster.

Champions of the Future scheme

Have you set your sights on becoming a national champion or Olympic gold medallist? Are you serious about being one of Westminster's brightest sporting stars? The Champions of the Future scheme can help you achieve your dreams.

If you live, study or work in Westminster, and you compete in a sport at district, regional, national or international level, you could get:

  • money for travel, equipment and accommodation
  • free mentoring and training support
  • free entry to council swimming pools, fitness suites and classes
  • an invite to our annual seminar, which includes awards and guest speakers
  • the chance to be recognised in ActiveWestminster Awards and other regional awards

Apply for Champions of the Future

Applications open 20 December 2015 and will close 20 February 2016

Gifted and Talented scheme

If you're considered to be an exceptional talent in your chosen sport, your school can refer you to the Gifted and Talented programme to help you develop your skill.

There's a 13-week course for primary school pupils and a 6-week course for secondary school students.

If you're eligible, your PE teacher should apply to the
Westminster Sports Unit.
