Young People's Private View

Come to the National Portrait Gallery after-hours for our exclusive Young People’s Private View.

We have a range of exciting things on, from artist-led talks and drawing, to performances by young musicians, refreshments, a DJ playing a youth-selected playlist, competitions with prizes and much more, hosted by the Gallery’s Youth Forum.

Uncover: Printmaking for protest workshop

This workshop is for young people aged 15 to 19.

Led by professional artists, makers and practitioners, 'Uncover' workshops connect you to the creative industries. Taking part is the perfect way to build up your creative portfolio.

Summer in the city

Summer in the City is back, bigger and better than ever, with hundreds of free and low-cost activities to keep you entertained and active this summer holiday, including music festivals, sporting days out, dance workshops and arts classes.

Soho Theatre Young Company

If you’re aged 11 to 30, and want to develop your comedy, theatre or playwriting skills to a higher level, then the Soho Theatre Young Company might be what you’re looking for.

They offer a range of courses, labs and projects, led by writers, comedians and theatre professionals.

Free lunchtime concerts from some of the best emerging and internationally recognised performers.

Ebony steel band classes

Suitable for all abilities and beginners. Come along and enjoy playing with one of Europe’s leading steel bands.

Family shows at The Cockpit

Usually the last Saturday of the month.

Once a month The Cockpit theatre presents a new family Show, from puppetry to dance, from magic to music.

Cost: £7, £5 for residents in the Church Street Ward.

Tri-borough Music Hub

This central London music education scheme runs activities from a range of arts organisations, including low-cost tuition.
