On the day of your ceremony

What you need to know and do to prepare for a marriage or civil partnership ceremony.

Our standard ceremonies last approximately 25 minutes however, If you have chosen a “you plus two” ceremony this will be shorter

You will both need to arrive 15 minutes before the start of your ceremony to see the registrar and confirm the details for your marriage certificate.

If you would prefer to be seen separately by the registrar, one of you should arrive 20 minutes before the start of your ceremony and the other should arrive 10 minutes before. There is no need to let us know in advance if you wish to be seen separately (this is not applicable for “you plus two “ceremonies as we will expect both of you to arrive with your two witnesses at the same time).

Arriving late could result in the postponement of your wedding or civil partnership to a later time or date so that other ceremonies are not disrupted.

Witnesses

You will need 2 witnesses at the ceremony. They must be over the age of 16, and able to speak and understand English.

Our staff cannot act as witnesses or supply witnesses.

Pre-ceremony interview

If you have not already done so, please complete this form at least two weeks before the ceremony.

To ensure that all of your details are correct, the registrar must interview both of you in private just before the ceremony.

You are not required to bring any documents or ID. The registrar will be happy to answer any queries you may have regarding the ceremony.

Once the formalities with the registrar have been completed, you can choose to either start the ceremony informally with your guests, or the registrar can announce your entrance into the ceremony room.

For the most up to date information and FAQs please see www.adaytoremember.london.
