Dance Westminster - coming to a dance floor near you

Westminster City Council and Everyone Active is teaming up with local inclusive dance company Step Change Studios to launch Dance Westminster, an innovative initiative which encourages more disabled people in the community to be active.

Open to people with disabilities aged 11 and over who live, study or work in the borough, Dance Westminster will give people the opportunity to attend 1 of 3 free workshops where they can experience an inclusive, engaging dance class and learn a dance routine.

Participants will then take part in an audition where they can perform the routine they have learned in the workshop and any other moves they want to show off.

10 finalists will be selected to take part in a grand final on 23 January 2020 in the beautiful ballroom at Porchester Hall where they will compete with a professional dance partner for the first ever Dance Westminster title.

Every finalist will receive 1 to 1 dance coaching from a professional partner and they will perform together at the finals where a judging panel and the audience will decide the Dance Westminster 2020 champion.

We want the community to get behind the Dance Westminster participants and finalists, so if you know someone that loves dance or would like to have a go, please encourage them to apply. You can follow and share Dance Westminster through social media, and the heats and finals are open to the public to come along, enjoy some dancing and support our dancing stars.
