Contaminated land

Contaminated land in Westminster

In Westminster there are currently no contaminated land sites or ‘Special Sites’ as they are known under the Environmental Protection Act.

There are no domestic refuse landfill sites, sludge disposal or diseased animal burial sites within the City of Westminster boundary.

Contaminated land guide

London councils have produced a guide for property owners, developers, architects and surveyors. It describes what information they should submit to the Planning Department when applying to re-develop, or significantly change the use of a piece of land which could potentially be contaminated.
