Contaminated land in Westminster

In Westminster there are currently no contaminated land sites or ‘Special Sites’ as they are known under the Environmental Protection Act.

There are no domestic refuse landfill sites, sludge disposal or diseased animal burial sites within the City of Westminster boundary.

Applying for an environmental search

For £100, Westminster City Council can perform an environmental search for your site, including:

  • historic maps
  • a formal letter describing the previous land uses of your site
  • confirmation that the council is at the site prioritisation stage for the Part IIA strategy
