Children waiting to be adopted

Profiles of children currently waiting for families

The age range of the children waiting can be from 2 years to 10 years old. We rarely have children under two, and where there are small babies in need of permanency, there are often health complications or background issues to consider.

Many of the children are in sibling groups of two, or if they are single children, have older brothers and sisters adopted in other families.

The children often have family histories including mental health, drug and alcohol misuse and domestic violence, which all have emotional health implications for the children.

We are very keen to hear from families who:

  • are from a black or ethnic minority group
  • would consider a sibling group of two or three children
  • have experience, knowledge, understanding of a child's background when they have been removed from their parents due to abuse or neglect, or have a willingness and interest in developing these skills
  • would consider caring permanently for a child with a learning or physical disability.
