Occupational Therapy
What we do...
The Occupational Therapy Service aims to help people to be as independent as possible in all areas of their life.
We help people to learn new skills in lots of different every day things. Some of these are hobbies, cooking, dressing, shopping and getting out and about.
We can meet and assess you in your own home, day centre, college or work and talk about the skills that you would like to get better at.
Sometimes we ask people to show us how they are doing things. By doing this we can suggest ways to help people improve their skills.
Who we work with...
We work with people on their own or sometimes in groups.
We can also provide advice and help to your carers or support workers so they can help you to learn new skills.
Sometimes we work with other health and social care professionals, like physiotherapists, speech and language therapists, care managers or placement monitoring officers.
