Notting Hill Carnival

This year, the Notting Hill Carnival will take place from Saturday 23 August to Monday 25 August 2008.

In order to protect resident parking in the vicinity of the carnival area, the City Council has obtained a Temporary Traffic Order to extend parking controls in the streets in parts of parking zones B & C (see below for details). Therefore non-residents are strongly advised not to bring their vehicles into Central London over the Bank Holiday weekend. Temporary signs will be erected shortly in these streets to advise all motorists.

Extended Parking Controls in Parking Zones B and C


Zone C2 , C/B1 and C1

In the area bounded by Bravington Rd, Shirland Rd, Chippenham Rd and Harrow Rd.


Zone B2 (following roads only):

  • Artesian Road (Ledbury Road to Northumberland Place only)
  • Moorhouse Road
  • Needham Road
  • Courtnell Road
  • Northumberland Place
  • St Stephen’s Gdns (Shrewsbury Rd to Chepstow Rd only)
  • Sutherland Place

Parking controls for resident bays in the areas mentioned above will be extended as follows:

  • Saturday 23 August – Monday 25 August: 8.30am – midnight.
  • Tuesday 26 August – normal parking controls will resume: 8.30am - 6.30pm
