Motorcycle parking

New and extended bays for motorcyclists

From 1 October 2007, we are increasing the on street parking provision for motorcycles by 1000 spaces - an increase of 20%. This means that there will be approximately 5000 spaces for motorcyclists.

We will be increasing provision by extending some existing bays, as well as converting approximately 100 meter bays.

We will be covering the meters with black 'Solo Motorcycle Only' bags. These bags will remain until the meter heads and posts are removed in the near future.

Over the next month, you will see new bays across the borough, starting in the West End, Covent Garden and Mayfair areas. This is where pressure on parking for motorcyclists is at its highest.
