Parking and traffic enforcement

Parking and Traffic Enforcement

Parking in central London is limited and in high demand. We have parking rules to ensure there is a balance of parking provision for all motorists who want to park in the City of Westminster. We use Civil Enforcement Officers (previously known as Parking Attendants), CCTV and a relocation service to enforce these rules and help maintain this balance.

On March 31st 2008, the Traffic Management Act 2004 replaced the Road Traffic Act 1991 (RTA) as the primary piece of legislation covering parking enforcement in England.  More information about the Traffic Management Act 2004.
