Westminster City Council urges residents to respond to Transport for London's consideration of the western extension of the Congestion Charging Zone.

TfL have responded to the City Council on three matters surrounding the existing congestion charging scheme and the proposed western extension. These are as follows:
The City Council has replied to the Mayor of London's Consultation on the Western Extension of Congestion Charging that closed on 15 July 2005:
Westminster City Council is opposed to the Mayor of London's existing congestion charging scheme and strongly objects to his plans to extend the zone to the west. The City Council believes that an extended zone would further divide existing communities. Residents in the north would be priced out of using local businesses in the south, hitting those on low incomes the most.
