About WISH

Background Information
WISH logoWISH is …

short for the Westminster Information SHaring project. The project was set up to meet the requirements set out by the DfES Information, Sharing and Assessment project. This work is part of the broader Every Child Matters: Change for Children Agenda and is incorporated into the CHildren Act 2004.

The DfES expect local authorities to be working towards four standards in relation to ISA:

  • Support integrated processes across services and localities by adopting the Common Assessment Framwork (CAF)
  • Ensure effective information sharing arrangements are in place
  • Have systematic arrangements in place for identifying 'children missing education'
  • Have up to date directories of local children's services available to practitioners and children and families

Further information on ISA can be obtained via the DfES website:

The following pages will provide an overview of the work currently being carried out in Westminster in relation to ISA. For further information contact the WISH team.
