Changes to Youth Services
We propose to change the way youth services are delivered from next year. We ran a consultation from August to October 2011 to find out what you think of our proposals.
Your feedback is available here. It will feed into our plans.
For more information, please email Paul Davies, Acting Commissioner for Young People's Services at pdavies1@westminster.gov.uk.
Background
The council funds youth clubs and projects across Westminster.
We propose to change the way we fund these services by asking the organisations who deliver them to focus on young people who have more specific needs. These needs could include young people whose behaviour affects their community such as being involved in crime or not doing well at school.
In the long-term we believe this will reduce costs caused by crime and unemployment whilst improving services for children, young people and families.
See the consultation form for details of the changes we propose.
What happens next?
We will use your feedback to write a report on the future of young people's services. The report will be available here early next year. We will also contact the people who are affected by the changes to let them know.
