Street Lighting

All street lighting should be lit from dusk until dawn and working to designed lighting levels, without flickering. Lighting columns and lantern heads should be clean, structurally sound, securely positioned and vertically aligned with no evidence of significant corrosion or damage.

Street lighting columns must have securely fitted service covers, with all wiring safely contained within the column unit. Street lighting should be free of graffiti, fly-posting and stickers.

Street lighting columns should be free of unauthorised or out-of-date attached signage (including expired council notices of any kind) or other items such as abandoned cycle locks, chains, cable ties and jubilee clips.
