City of Westminster

Parking

Parking improvements were made in the area, that:

  • don't compromise or reduce the ability of local residents and disabled users to park conveniently on the side streets
  • provide parking opportunities for those that wish to access the local shopping facilities

  • help local businesses on Harrow Road through the creation of two loading and unloading pads for deliveries

  • enable better and more consistent enforcement without increasing street furniture (e.g. street signs)

These included:

First Avenue: the creation of one loading bay, two more 'shared use' bays and conversion of three residents' parking bays to 'shared use'.

Second Avenue: the conversion of residents' parking bays to 'shared use' bays.

Third Avenue: the conversion of residents' parking bays and a section of motorcycle parking bays by the church, to "pay and display" bays.

Sixth Avenue: the conversion of two residents' parking bays to "pay and display" parking, and conversion of a section of the motorcycle parking bays to a Blue Badge disabled parking bay.

St John's Terrace: the creation of a 10-minute stopping bay for motorists visiting the local car repair garage.

Portnall Road: the creation of a dedicated loading bay.

Ashmore Road: the creation of an additional "pay and display" bay and a loading bay.

Maryland Road: the creation of a dedicated loading bay.

Cirencester Street: the creation of a dedicated loading bay.

Further options will be explored to provide more parking
