Improving Ha'Penny Steps' Open Space

Ha'Penny Steps open space

The public, open space located at Ha'Penny Steps footbridge is benefiting from a series of improvements designed to encourage its use and minimise the impact of the busy Harrow Road.

Following preliminary discussions with local stakeholders in 2007 (including Harrow Road, Queen's Park and Westbourne Ward Members and Local Area Renewal Partnerships, British Waterways, Harrow Road Traders' Association and the Disability Access Group), we developed a number of proposals for improving this open space.

These proposals underwent two rounds of public consultation with local residents, businesses, and visitors to the area, the results of which have been used to refine our ideas.

Our proposals are being co-ordinated with the City Of Westminster's Open Spaces Strategy. It is hoped that once completed, they will make Ha'Penny Steps a real focal point for the local community.

Status: design for the open space being finalised
