London Buses on diversion

At times when there are essential road works; there is an emergency; or even where there is heavy congestion it is necessary for bus services to be re-directed from their normal routes. Transport for London closely manages bus route diversion and Bus users are advised that:

• bus route diversions should be clearly signposted and bus stops updated where practicable;
  
  
• bus drivers are instructed to serve all formal bus stops on the diverted route unless the driver is instructed by Transport for London to do otherwise. Under these circumstances he/she will advise passengers on the PA system that this is so before the bus undertakes the diversion.
