City of Westminster

How much does it cost?

Motorcyclists are required to purchase a permit to park in a 'solo motorcycle only' bay during controlled hours.  Holders of a residents' permit for a motorcycle may use their residents' permit to park in motorcycle bays city-wide without further charge. Parking in dedicated off-street motorcycle bays in Westminster's secure car parks is free of charge for all motorcycles.

Motorcyclists can pay for their parking using Westminster's Pay by Phone service. Find out more about Pay by Phone here.

The daily charge is £1.00 and this allows you to park in any on-street motorcycle bay in Westminster.  Once you have paid the charge you can move freely from one motorcycle bay to another without having to pay the charge again that day.

If you park regularly in Westminster, you should consider purchasing one of our permits. It costs the equivalent of as little as 33p a day to park if you purchase an annual permit. Other permit types are also available.

Permit Costs

1 Day £1.00
1 Week £3.50
1 Month £13.50
1 Quarter £33.50
1 Year £100.00

* Electric motorcycles are exempt from charges but will still need to register a Pay by Phone account. For more information, see the section on Electric Motorcycles.

** Holders of a residents' permit for a motorcycle may use their residents' permit to park in any motorcycle bay city-wide without further charge.

Non Motorcycle Only Bays

Motorcyclists can also park in Shared Use, Pay and Display, and Pay by Phone bays, but payment is required as for other vehicles. Prices are indicated on machines and signs. For more information on prices in non-motorcycle bays please visit our Zones and Prices section.
