Suspension Charges

From 27th April, the cost to suspend a parking space is £38.00 per space per day.

This applies throughout the borough. Exceptions apply - see below.

Charges are applied on a whole day/whole bay basis

(Pay and Display and Pay by Phone bays are marked into single bays. For resident and other types of bays, a six metre length is classed as one space).

LJUG/NJUG

Companies/Operators who are part of the National Joint Utilities Group (NJUG) or London Joint Utilities Group (LJUG) schemes will be charged at a rate of £41 per week per suspension space. Evidence will be required and applications will not be able to be processed online.

Large scale suspensions

For a large scale suspension, you must require 30 or more resident parking spaces to be suspended. If you require a large scale suspension, you are liable to pay an additional £38.00 per space, per day. This is to cover the cost of providing alternative parking spaces for resident permit holders.

In the case of statutory utility companies, £38.00 per space per week of the suspension is payable for the provision of the alternative parking spaces if more than 30 resident parking spaces are required.

Exceptions

Some suspensions do not incur a charge:

• Weddings and funerals (only the first 3 spaces are suspended free of charge for official cars)
• Events organised by Westminster registered charities
• Blood transfusion service vehicles

Payment

• Payment should be made at the time the application is submitted, ensuring that the minimum notice period for the suspension has been met
