How to avoid a PCN

Park Right
Get hold of a copy of our Park Right Guide explaining the different types of parking in Westminster. It includes a handy A-Z map of central London and it's free!
Paying to park
Ensure you make sufficient payment for the duration of your parking stay. Allow for delays in getting back to your vehicle. More about different parking zones and prices in Westminster.
Pay by Phone
The need to carry loose change is now a thing of the past with Pay by Phone parking. If you are running late, you can even top up your parking from wherever you are and receive text reminders to avoid getting a Penalty Charge Notice. More about Pay by Phone parking.
Suspensions
Look out for yellow suspension signs which indicate that ordinary parking facilities have been suspended and parking is temporarily not permitted. Read the details of the sign carefully before parking. If in doubt, ask a Civil Enforcement Officer (CEO) or do not park there. More about parking suspensions.
Loading / unloading
When loading/unloading on yellow lines, look out for kerb markings and timeplates which may indicate that there are loading restrictions in place. Read the rules for loading and unloading in Westminster.
