Relocations

For certain parking contraventions, Westminster may relocate a vehicle to a nearby paid-for parking space, particularly if the vehicle is causing an obstruction or preventing a permit holder from using their parking bay.
We currently relocate from the following types of parking bays:
- suspended bays
- permit bays
- spaces designed for other types of vehicle
- dropped footways
- disabled bays
- diplomat and police bays
- taxi ranks
- bus stops
- areas outside schools
- pedestrian crossings
We also relocate for security reasons upon Police request, and for special events.
There is no extra charge for this service however vehicles parked in contravention may still receive a Penalty Charge Notice.
I can't find my vehicle, what do I do?
Vehicles which are relocated by Westminster City Council will be placed in a paid-for parking space as close to the original location as possible. Relocated vehicles will be marked with a blue notice saying "Vehicle has been re-positioned", which will state the date, time and new location of the vehicle so that our Civil Enforcement Officers know not to take any further action for the rest of that day.
If you cannot find your vehicle in a space near to where you originally parked, it may have been removed by a different authority. Read more about vehicle removals.
