Traffic Marshals are now operating in the Leicester Square area

The new and improved Leicester Square is now open and there are some changes to how traffic can drive around and into the Square.

See a more detailed map and a printable leaflet of the Leicester Square Vehicle Access area here.

Traffic Marshals have a vital role to play in Leicester Square. They help manage vehicle access to the Square and the safe movement of vehicles around it, to ensure that priority is given to pedestrians to enjoy one of the most popular tourist sites in Westminster.

Marshals will be on duty in and around the Square at all times. They will be able to answer questions and help with the flow of traffic around the Square by giving guidance on where to park and managing essential access.

  • Deliveries and services will have access between 6am – 10am Monday to Saturday ONLY and a vehicle weight limit of 18t is in place,
  • Entry to the Square is permitted at the North East corner and South West corner only and movement around the Square is one-way. Vehicle free zones are also in place at all times. See map for details.
  • Generally access to the Square for deliveries or servicing outside of these hours will not be permitted and it is the responsibility of the business owners to ensure that their delivery and servicing suppliers are made aware of the access times.

It is appreciated that access may be required in exceptional circumstances and a prearranged booking system is in place to manage this. You can pre-arrange access to the Square 24 hrs before access is required, by filling in an Access Request form.
