Changes to road marking
Changes to the road marking of personal White Badge disabled bays across the City
There have been changes to the road markings of the personal White Badge disabled bays across the City. The previous road marking for White Badge disabled bays displayed the permit number on the ground which corresponded with the permit number displayed on the Parking sign.
Road markings have to follow prescribed designs set by the Department for Transport in The Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions manual or be specially approved by the Secretary of State for Transport. Our own style bays did not confirm to these guidelines.
The road markings have been changed to make them compliant with the DfT guidelines. The new lettering on these bays is "PERMIT HOLDERS ONLY". This bay is still dedicated to a single permit holder by virtue of the corresponding permit number on the Parking sign.
No other vehicles including White or Blue badge holders can use this personal disabled bay.
