Carrying out work in Westminster

There are 3 options available to customers carrying out work in Westminster:

1. Suspensions

If there are parking bays outside or near the property where you are working then you can apply to have parking temporarily suspended for that purpose. This can include office or house moves, construction work or longer periods of loading and unloading. There is a daily charge for suspending a parking bay. More information on suspensions.

2. Trades Permits

Specifically designed for trades people (such as plumbers, electricians, painters and decorators), the trades permit entitles the holder to approximately a 20% discount on normal parking prices on-street. It can be obtained by the person carrying out the work or by the Westminster resident or company who is having the work done. In many cases this is cheaper than arranging a parking suspension, especially if only one parking space is required. More information on Trades Permits.

3. Yellow Line Dispensation

If there are only yellow lines outside a property and the work needs to take place as close to that property as possible, a special dispensation to park on yellow lines may be granted. This will usually apply if the work cannot be conducted from a nearby parking bay, so a suspension or Trades Permit would not be appropriate.  More information on Yellow Line Dispensations.
