Parking Improvements

We want to ensure parking in a busy place such as Westminster is as trouble-free and uncomplicated as possible. During the course of 2008 we worked hard on upgrading our parking services to make parking in Westminster easier and more efficient for you. Over the last year a number of improvements have been implemented including putting a stop to clamping, common sense parking measures and easy pricing. Find out about these and more below:

dropped kerbs
Considerate Parking - Parking in front of dropped kerbs

A dropped kerb involves kerb stones being lowered and the pavement being strengthened and made into a ramp. This helps people with pushchairs or in wheelchairs to access the road from the pavement more easily. Dropped kerbs also provide vehicle access to private residences from the road.

No more clamping

Vehicles will no longer be clamped or removed in Westminster. Vehicles that are causing a serious obstruction on Westminster's streets, such as those parked in a disabled or suspended bay, or on the request of the police, will be relocated to the nearest available safe space instead.
