UK Official Publications

The UK Official Publications collection is held on the Ground Floor of Westminster Reference Library

We hold an extensive collection of UK official publications - one of the major London public library resources. The collection includes legislation (see also the Law collection page), statistics, reports and papers, some going back to the early part of the twentieth century:

• Parliamentary publications since 1906
• HMSO / Stationery Office publications from 1947 - 2004, with selected publications taken from 2005+
• Census statistics from the 19th Century (1801) to date
• Records of Parliamentary Debates since 1803
• Selected UK and international statistical publications from the Office of National Statistics (ONS), United Nations (UN), Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), World Trade Organization (WTO), Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) and others

Staff at Westminster Reference Library have a good knowledge of the many e-Government resources available via the Internet. These sites provide a large amount of the newly published information disseminating from parliament and the government departments. You will find a list of some of these important Government and official websites using the Gateway to websites.

So, for example, if you want to:

• consult the recent white paper on transport
• look at the 1951 census details
• find the current GNP for France

then come to Westminster Reference Library.
