Westminster Writers' Group [Marylebone]

About the group

Westminster Writers was founded in 1996 and is the longest-established of the writing groups in Westminster Libraries. The group aims to provide a supportive and constructive workshop for work-in-progress. We are open to all those who live, work, study in or are visiting Westminster. The group's 2007 collection, Writing on Dentistry, is available from the Library.

Westminster Writers in 2012

Writers and readers are invited to come along to Marylebone Library on Monday evenings to discuss all things literary. We meet in the staff room, through the Gloucester Place entrance, up the steps to the upper ground floor and straight through to the information room. Ask at the desk and one of the librarians will direct you.

Meetings start at 6.30pm and end at 7.45pm (the library closes at 8pm). Until further notice, the group will continue to meet every Monday.

Bring a book, article or blog you are reading, one you think is (or isn’t) well written; a sampling of your latest piece of work even if it isn’t finished yet (with luck, you’ll gain fresh impetus); your advice to others trying to write; or simply yourself. Bring questions. Are there any writing workshops or courses you would recommend or books or e-reading you would recommend – on writing or any other subject directly or indirectly linked to the creative act of writing?
