Love glittery, shiny things? Make your own glistening decorations. This is a free event for children between the ages of 5-14 years, who must be accompanied by their parent/carer.
Places are limited so please contact 020 7641 6200 and ask to speak to Paddington Children's Library, or visit the library in person.
Christmas poetry for adults with Kate Birch
2.00 - 2.45pm
It’s our privilege to present Kate Birch, the publisher of ‘Ink Sweat & Tears’, a poetry and prose webzine which publishes and reviews poetry, prose, prose-poetry, word & image pieces and everything in between. Kate took over the management of Ink Sweat & Tears in April 2011.
Kate will be reading from the website’s non ethereal venture, ‘ Slanted’ a book of Christmas poems inspired by Emily Dickinson’s call, to “Tell all the Truth but tell it slant” .
Perhaps having been outed as one who could not write poetry, Kate has always been a keen supporter of those who can. In 2007, she and her husband, Dominic Christian, set up Café Writers Norfolk Commission, for which she also sits on the judging panel. Four years later, she established the Ink Sweat & Tears Poetry Writing Scholarship at the University of East Anglia, which goes towards an MA in Creative Writing.
So please join us and be inspired. For more about Ink Sweat and Tears, please take a look at their website: http://www.inksweatandtears.co.uk/
