Kompass has over 2.2 million companies along with 54,000 classified products and 822,000 trade names contained on its database.

This is not just from those companies based in the UK but 70 counties worldwide.  Kompass allows companies to list themselves for free ensuring a very large take up.

Kompass is useful whether you are searching for a specific company or product, if you are conducting a general search for companies which make, import or export products certain products, or if you are interested in finding out about companies in certain areas.

Searches can be conducted through product names and definitions, geographic areas (from countries to towns right down to individual postcodes), and specific company information such as employee numbers and turnover. All these options are available in the database's advanced search facility which is the recommended search method. Please also note that although Kompass offers some access freely to have full access to all features you must be logged in with your library card or be on a Westminster Libraries computer.
