National Archives
Formerly the Public Record Office, the official archive of the UK now provides searchable access to its own collections and other archives' catalogues nationwide.
1901 Census and 1911 Census
Search the indexes for information about individuals in the 1901 and 1911 census data. You can also buy full records online. Access to the indexes of other censuses are under 'Genealogy' below.

General Register Office
The Family Record Centre has closed but you can search the indexes of Births, Deaths and Marriages on microfiche at the City of Westminster Archives Centre and obtain certificates by post/telephone or online from the General Register Office.
