National Bookstart Week 2013
Libraries are great places for babies, children, young adults, parents and carers.

You can find resources for fun and education, leisure and learning.

June 24-30 is National Bookstart Week, and we'll be celebrating (with giveaways) at all our Under 5s' sessions.

Find your local library's activities for children on the News & Events page, and get a flavour of what we get up to on the Books & the City blog.

  • Activities & events for children

Storytimes, reading schemes, craft sessions, author visits - there's always a lot happening for children in Westminster Libraries.

  • Books & reading

Books and music to borrow... Books to help you do your homework... Stories and information... DVDs for loan - all this and more!

  • FAQ

What can I borrow? How long for? Can I use a computer? Is there anyone who can help me? Find the answers here.

  • Bookstart

Babies love books - and you can get free ones to help them on their way!

  • Under 5s

Storytelling, singing, puppets and pictures - regular fun sessions in libraries for those under five years old.

  • Homework help

Our children's libraries have 'Homework Collections' and friendly staff to help you. If you are aged 7-13 you can also join a free term-time Homework Club.

  • Webtastic!

We can help you at home as well - use these great websites when you're doing your homework - and for fun!

  • For parents & carers

Find out about our links to national reading schemes and how we can help your child with reading and learning, at home and at school.

  • For schools

The Schools Library Service offers topic based loans, fiction collections, advice, support and book purchase. It also runs training courses for staff about books and school libraries.
