Chapter 05: Electoral Registers & Poll Books

5.1 Poll books | 5.2 Electoral Registers

Electoral registers and poll books comprise lists of people entitled to vote in a particular election. Voting qualifications varied according to the date in question. In 1832 the parliamentary borough of St Marylebone was created, which included the parishes of Paddington, St Marylebone and, for a while, St Pancras. In 1983 boundary changes meant that the old Westminster, Paddington and Marylebone constituencies became the constituencies of Westminster North and the City of London and Westminster South.
