Microfilm, Microfiche and Flatbed scanners
There are digital microform (microfilm and microfiche) reading and printing facilities available in both the reference libraries in Westminster (Marylebone Information Service and Westminster Reference Library).
Please note: these are microform reader/printers, not general document scanners. For document scanning, please see below.
It is possible to transfer images from the reader directly onto computer. The files that are created can then be printed (15p per page) or saved (USB memorysticks cost £5.99 from the library). Staff are always on hand to help with these machines.
Document scanning facilities - flatbed scanners
There are already scanning facilities in the Learning Centre at Queen's Park Library, Marylebone Information Service and at Pimlico Library. Plus there will soon be a flatbed scanner in every library.
Please contact the library whose scanner you wish to use before you visit to make sure it is in working order. You may also wish to book the computer it is attached to ensure you have use of it upon your visit.
