Oxford Street Christmas Lights

Please be aware road closures will be in place

Date: Monday 5th November 2012

The annual Oxford Street Christmas Lights Switch On will be taking place on Monday 5th November at a free event which begins at 5pm. Robbie Williams will be flipping the switch to turn on the lights and get Christmas 2012 on Oxford Street underway. Supporting the line up will be Leona Lewis and Lawson, with Marmite Gold sponsoring the lights themselves.

The switch on will take place from a stage located on the paved area of Old Cavendish Street, between john Lewis and House of Fraser, facing onto Oxford Street.

 

Please be aware that there will be road closures during this time:
  • 12.00hrs-16.00hrs Oxford Street eastbound traffic only between Portman Street and Oxford Circus.  From 16.00hrs-20.00hrs closed to all traffic on Oxford Street between Portman Street and Oxford Circus.
  • Old Cavendish Street will be closed from 10.00hrs on Sunday 4th November to accommodate the stage build.

 

Timings Monday 5th November
  • 12.00hrs eastbound road closure of Oxford Street between Portman Street and Oxford Circus. Westbound access will be maintained for London Buses only until 16.00hrs.
  • 16.00hrs total road closure of Oxford Street between Oxford Circus and Portman Street.
  • 17.00hrs Stage show starts
  • 18.15hrs Christmas Light official switch on
  • 18.30hrs event finishes
  • 20.00hrs roads re-open to traffic
