London 2012 mascot discovery trails

  
Sunday 9th September

Bandstand Marathon in Paddington Recreation Ground.

1pm - 5pm

A free event for all the family, with community choirs, local dance groups and music acts.

Part of the biggest community event of the London 2012 Festival closing celebration and part of the Showtime Festival presented by the Mayor of London.

Wednesday 1st August

Kids Week in the West End launches. Free theatre tickets for children plus activities, events and behind-the-scenes tours.

Extended opening hours continue in the West End, until 10pm.

Thursday 2nd August

Three new discovery trails in Westminster take you past 12 models of the London 2012 mascots.

Pass the Flame Connect the World exhibition in the SW1 Gallery, 12 Cardinal Walk, roof garden level, Cardinal Place, SW1E 5JE including Westminster City Archives project to record local memories of the 1948 Games. Until 30th August.

Hatwalk: 20 hats by British milliners including Philip Treacy and Stephen Jones have been placed on iconic statues as part of the Mayor of London’s London 2012 Festival. Lord Nelson, Sir Henry Havelock and King George IV in Trafalgar Square all don the specially commissioned headpieces.

Bush Bikes in Victoria Embankment Gardens celebrate the efforts of Team GB cyclists. Take a look at photos and add your own using #bushbikes.
