Google virtual maps
Westminster schools are working with Google to create virtual maps of their local area to help 2012 visitors around the city. Google are training staff and pupils as well as providing the technology. The winning school will receive 15 digital cameras and GPS systems.
People’s Record

Westminster’s People’s Record project has won the Inspire Mark from the London Organising Committee of the Olympic Games (LOCOG). Westminster Archives Centre have worked with diverse community groups to capture memories of the 1948 Games.
Sport
Twelve 2012 legacy programmes are being developed by the council’s sport and leisure department to increase participation in sport and introduce people to physical activity for the first time. Please see our Active Westminster pages for more information
