Guide to using Empty Premises for Arts Projects

Sites due for Demolition

Applications for any change to property, including demolition, are submitted to the Planning department and every application has to be published on Westminster City Council's website.

If you are looking for Westminster properties, which are due to be closed or demolished, you are advised to search the applications during the planning process, before permission is given.

Once permission has been given by the Council, landlords and owners are required to give only very short notice of the demolition date.  At this stage it would be too late to plan for exhibitions or other arts activities on the premises.

If you do find a property, the information regarding Business Rates and Licensing, given in the Guide above, will still apply.
