Westminster Sports Unit

The Westminster Sports Unit seeks to promote, facilitate, develop and deliver innovative, high quality sports and physical activity programmes for those who live, work and go to school in Westminster.  The Sports Unit is made up of  4 main team and delivery programmes across the city as detailed below:

Sports Development – Participation focuses on developing high quality community sports and physical activity provision for hard to reach and low participation groups. Some of the main programmes on offer are:

• Neighbourhood Sport Programme
• Edutain (FIS / WoW)
• Parkour  (website)
• Exercise Referral

Sports Development - Progression with a responsibility for developing sports clubs, school and community competitions and support for talented athletes. Some of the main programmes on offer are:

• Champions of the Future
• School Competitions
• ActiveWestminster Mark

Sports Facilities Team which includes the direct management of  Moberly Sports and Education Centre and Little Venice Sports Centre which provides a range of services and provisions to the local community, often delivered by local groups and people who build irreplaceable relationships with many disadvantage or low represented groups.

There have been significant changes to school sport in the last year, however the Westminster Sports Unit is committed to providing high quality opportunities through PE and School Sport.
