Nominate in the Active Westminster Awards 2010

Do you know someone who has made a real difference to the community through sport and physical activity? Then nominate them for an Active Westminster Award.

If you know someone special, tell us about them and they could win sports equipment and other prizes. It could be a sports coach, club, volunteer or anyone who has improved lives through sport and physical activity.

You will also be entered into a prize draw to win one of the following [terms and conditions apply, please see below]:

• Nuffield Health annual membership (two available)
• Nuffield Health Ultimate month membership (four available)
• Day pass to the Porchester Spa including access to Turkish hot baths, steam rooms, sauna, lunge pool, relaxation area and swimming pool (five pairs available)
• Climbing wall tutored sessions at Seymour Leisure Centre (10 available)

There are 11 categories: 

• Physical activity, health and wellbeing project
• Inclusive and active
• Active school
• Active place
• Sports club
• Champion of the future
• London Youth Games
• Coach or community exercise instructor
• Active volunteer
• Active resident
• Outstanding contribution.

Anyone who lives or works in Westminster can be nominated. The competition closes for entries on 20th September 2010 and winners will be announced in November.

Prize draw terms and conditions

• To enter the prize draw, you must be aged 16 or over. People aged under 16 can nominate in the awards and will be offered an alternative prize.
• To nominate, you must live, work or study in Westminster.
• Only one entry into the prize draw is allowed per person although you can nominate in as many categories as you wish.
• The closing date for the prize draw is 20th September 2010.
• The draw will be held on 22nd September and winners notified by 27th September.
• The council cannot be held responsible for entries or attempted entries which are lost, incomplete or not actually received.
• No purchase is required as a condition of entry in the prize draw.
• The prizes available are 2 Nuffield Health Ultimate Annual memberships, 4 Nuffield Health Ultimate Month Memberships, 5 pairs of day passes to the Porchester Spa, and 10 tutored climbing sessions at Seymour Leisure Centre.
• No cash alternative will be offered.
• Leisure Centre. Prizes will be posted to the winner.
• The prize winner will be notified by phone or email.
• The prize must be claimed within 28 days of notification.
• Members of the Council, Officers of the Council and relatives of Members and Officers are not permitted to enter the prize draw. Relatives are defined to include husband, wife, son, daughter, mother, father, brother, sister, grandparents and grandchildren.
• The name of the prize winner will be available from City Hall on written request, enclosing a self addressed and pre-paid envelope.
• The winner may be asked for consent to being involved in any publicity after the competition, including the release of names and taking of photographs (if required).
• Once the prize draw has been claimed, no other correspondence will be entered into.
• Participants will be deemed to have accepted and agreed to be bound by the Terms and Conditions.
