Residential Environmental Health
We promote safe and healthy homes for all private (non council) residents in Westminster. We can advise and in some cases take direct action where the health and safety of your living environment is threatened by housing hazards and other issues including pests, nuisance, public health issues, drainage problems and waste on private land.
We aim to improve and maintain housing standards through:
- Advice and enforcement of housing standards
- Provision of housing grants to help maintain and improve conditions
- Provision of measures to prevent burglaries and help reduce the fear of crime
- Promoting good management practices in the private rented sector
- License houses in multiple occupation

Report concerns with your housing conditions
We are able to assess the potential risks of poor housing conditions on your health and safety, and in some cases take action to reduce or remove the risk. This only applies to non Council properties.
Access housing grants and other assistance
We support residents to maintain independence and live comfortably and safely in their own homes. This includes providing assistance with repairs, improvements and adaptations.
