• £3,000 for every bedroom you give up
• £2,000 towards removal and decorating costs

What is the Cash Incentive Scheme?

• Cash payments to council tenants with more rooms than they need to help them move to smaller properties more suitable to their needs.
• This helps us to reduce the number of people living in overcrowded accommodation or temporary homes, who are in desperate need of a larger home.

Overcrowding in London

• Did you know that over 1,000 households in Westminster are living in overcrowded accommodation?
• The effects of overcrowding are felt most by children and young people and can be damaging to their health and education
• Overcrowded housing in London is on the rise and we urgently need family sized council or housing association properties
