Fostering in Westminster

Thank you for visiting our fostering pages.

London desperately needs more foster carers. At Westminster, we recruit foster carers from all over London.

You don't need to be married or in a relationship. You don't need to own your own home or be earning a certain amount of money. And there is no upper age limit.

Working with other councils

Westminster City Council is now sharing its fostering service with the London Borough of Hammersmith and Fulham and the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea.

This will help to ensure that children in our care are placed with the best possible families. It also means that we can devote more resources to helping find foster carers for the children who need them.

Information Sessions

Our information sessions are a chance for you to find out more about the fostering process, ask your questions and talk to our existing foster carers to find out what it's really like. The next information events are:

  • 18th May 2012, 10am - 12 noon, 18th Floor, City Hall, 64 Victoria Street SW1E 6QP
  • 24th May 2012, 6-8pm, Hammersmith Town Hall, King Street W6 9JU.

We offer a wide range of fostering opportunities, from full-time fostering to weekend care for children with disabilities. And we’ll give you all the support you need as well as generous fees and allowances.
